State Finals in Chesaning

First of all, let's take a moment to recognize the drumlines who competed at the Michigan Color Guard Cicuit Percussion Championships at Chesaning High School in Chesaning, Michigan. Congradulations to all of the ensembles and individuals who participated.

In the Scholastic A division, performing was West Bloomfield, Central Montcalm, and Waterford Mott. Participating in the Scholastic Open division was Chesaning Percussion Theatre, Arthur Hill, and G-Force. From the Independent Open division, drumlines included Liviona Franklin, CAL Perc, Maverix, West Michigan Percussion, and Huron Valley Percussion. Lastly, in Scholastic World competition was Clinton Percussion and Novi.

As for individual performances, the line-up included Tim Rugenstein in Keyboard Individual Exhibition, Jason Peterson as the Tenor Individual Champion, West Michigan Percussion's very own Jeff Link as Keyboard Individual Champion, and James Morris from Novi as the Snare Individual Champion.

Well, what can we say, but...WE WON!!! Yes, although a close race, West Michigan Percussion prevailed in Independent Open competition. We recieved a trophe and a flag, as well as gold medals for each individual. We were very satisfied with the night's performance, and we can't wait till next year to come back and kick some more ASS!!!
